Tube amps are complex enough beasts as they are! Still some manufacturers have combined these with presets and MIDI to make some truly remarkable amps.
Hook Wizard
Complete with motorized pots, the Hook Wizard supports 32 presets spanning a variety of different voicings. It comes with a desktop editor, and while it does support MIDI for preset recall, it doesn’t have CC codes for preset parameters, so we don’t think it can be supported in our app.
Joyo Dualkloz Multipath Amplifier
The DualKlonz rearchitects the entire amp to do true circuit-level modelling of classic tube amplifiers. It comes with it’s own app for editing, so we’re unlikely to try and implement in Presets app.
Mesa/Boogie Triaxis
While technically a preamp, when combined with the Mesa 2:90 power amp, the Triaxis formed the ultimate dream rack rig for many 90s guitarists. It does have a complex MIDI implementation, so there’s a hope we can support it sometime in the future.
Marshall JMP-1
While a little late to the rackmount party, the Marshal JMP-1 does have it’s fans. Unfortunately they only added MIDI for program changes, not for parameters.
Soldano Caswell X99
What of the rarest rackmount preamps, demos are just as hard to find! Supporting both MIDI and presets, if we can find a manual, we’ll try and support even discontinued items like the X99!
